Texas And Pacific Railroad

Brick Experts was tasked with restoring massive cast stone installations on the historic Texas & Pacific Railroad building in downtown Fort Worth. These cast stone dome structures sit high above the building and required full scaffold access in a tight, elevated work area, making the repair process especially demanding.

This restoration project focused on repairing and sealing the rooftop domes to stop long-term water intrusion.

Cast Stone Restoration

The project centered on removing failed mortar joints throughout the dome assemblies and repointing them with new mortar to restore the integrity of the cast stone construction.

Once the joints were repaired, the domes were finished with an elastomeric coating to help seal the surface and protect against future moisture penetration.

Architecturally, the domes maintain the building’s historic character with their stepped profile, classical detailing, and prominent rooftop presence.

This project helped preserve a recognizable historic feature and keep it protected for continued use as an active terminal for the railroad.
