DART Shiloh EMF

Brick Experts was tasked with structural masonry construction for the new DART Shiloh Equipment Maintenance Facility, a large commercial masonry project with structural and aesthetic masonry elements.

The project was a large-scale commercial masonry build completed inside the three-story rail maintenance, repair, and cleaning facility.

Our scope focused primarily on interior structural masonry, where we constructed a series of office spaces, equipment enclosures, and utility rooms throughout multiple levels of the building, along with a dedicated elevator shaft and supporting wall systems for rail service areas. We also completed masonry work tied to the train cleaning area, where durability and function were critical.

CMU-Block Construction Plus Offices & Elevator Shaft Installation

This project was built with structural CMU block. Both regular-weight CMU and two-hour fire-rated CMU were installed, with fire-rated assemblies used where code required extra protection, like the elevator shaft.

The work included long stretches of reinforced block walls, framed openings, and integration with exposed steel, concrete, and mechanical systems. Rather than decorative masonry, this project was about precision, structural performance, and durability.

The result is a solid, functional masonry package that supports the needs of DART’s Shiloh transit facility.
